Jennifer Foran

Jennifer has extensive experience as a psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer. Â In her private practice, she works with adolescents, young adults, and their parents, specialising in eating disorders, anxiety and developmental trauma.

Evelyn Burke
MIAHIP, ICP
Evelyn is an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor who has been working with individual adults for 17 years. She works with a wide range of issues including fear and anxiety, low mood, bereavement and loss, fertility, low self-esteem and self-confidence, personal relationships, serious illness and mortality.

Colin Connolly

Colin is a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist trained in humanistic and integrative psychotherapy. He is fully accredited by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and is experienced in treating a wide range of presenting issues. Colin is psychoanalytic in his approach to psychotherapy and works with children, adults, and couples. Colin’s approach to psychotherapy is compassionate and collaborative. He creates a safe and supportive space for his clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Colin helps his clients to develop insights and coping skills to manage their challenges and live more fulfilling lives. He is a trauma informed practitioner, passionate about helping his clients to heal from trauma. He understands that trauma can have a profound impact on a person’s life, and he is committed to helping his clients to recover and thrive. Colin is also skilled in helping couples to improve their communication and intimacy, and to work through conflict in a healthy way. Colin has a keen interest in mental health in employment and supporting adolescent clients on their educational journey.

Clare Gowran

Clare is an accredited therapist and works with adults on an individual basis.  She creates a respectful, non–judgemental and safe environment. Clare believes that a client’s interpretation and experience of life’s events feel unique to them and therefore this needs to be heard and acknowledged.   Clare relates collaboratively with clients with a view to work on the issues they want to deal with, assisting them to explore and move towards changes they wish to make.  The range of issues that she works with are anxiety, low mood, depression, bereavement and loss, health related issues, stress, post- traumatic stress, work related and relationships issues. Clare has an Honours Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy and is accredited with the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) since 2018.  Clare’s therapeutic approach is humanistic and integrative. The humanistic approach is rooted in the belief that people inherently have motivation, the potential to grow and change, and to be in control of their lives. Integrative refers to bringing in other theories of counselling, where appropriate, for example; Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) for problem solving and cognitive behavioural concepts, to assist with unhelpful thinking and behaviour.  Clare has completed a certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and a professional certificate in the therapeutic use of Mindfulness. Prior to her training in the counselling field, Clare qualified and worked as general nurse

Jacqueline Moloney
IACP
Jacqueline is a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. She is a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, (IACP), and adheres to their professional guidelines. She works with adults on an individual basis and with adolescents (from 13 years upwards). Jacqueline’s background is in education, and she has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and their parents in a variety of settings. Jacqueline believes in the importance of a safe, supportive space to look at any issues which need to be explored. Trained in a holistic and integrative way, there are a variety of approaches which may be used depending on the person’s needs and preferences. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, exploration of family systems, Gestalt, psychodrama and art therapy. Jacqueline’s work includes dealing with anxiety and depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, bullying and her main area of interest is loss and bereavement. Jacqueline’s qualifications include Bachelor of Arts (First class honours) from ICCPD, (International College for Personal and Professional Development), Professional Certificate in Loss and Bereavement, (Royal College of Surgeons Ireland), Bachelor of Education, (University of Limerick.),Diploma in Special Education Needs. (Dublin City University).

Karen Bowe
APCP
Karen is an accredited therapist who works with adults on an individual basis. Karen works from an Integrative approach where she believes there isn’t one therapeutic approach to help a client. Karen feels it is important to take into account you as an individual and also your circumstances. Therefore it may be more beneficial to use different approaches to help you explore and cope with your issues or difficulties. Karen believes each person has the capacity for growth and self actualization in their own lives. Karen has spent several years working with Carlow and South Leinster Rape Crisis Centre. Karen offers a safe space for clients to speak freely and open about their experiences without judgement. Karen is an accredited member with APCP (Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Ireland). Karen holds a Cert in Play Therapy Skills, B.A (Hons) in Social Care Practice and and M.A in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Ruth Cahalan
IACP
Ruth is a qualified counsellor and Psychotherapist. She is a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, (IACP). She works with adolescents and adults on an individual basis helping the client to make sense of a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, past traumas, work or school related issues and sexuality and gender questioning. Ruth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and Diploma in Art Therapy from ICPPD (International College for Personal and Professional Development), Certificate in Adolescent Studies from Blackforth Adolescent Gestalt Institute, Certificate in Teen suicide awareness from PCI and a Certificate in Reality Therapy Choice Theory from the Glasser Institute. Ruth uses a variety of methods when working with clients such as traditional talk Therapy. Sand space, play therapy and art therapy. Ruth believes the client holds the key to unlocking and unpacking their issues. Her role is to provide a safe, understanding and non-judgemental environment for the work to take place.

Sharon Smyth
IAPTP
Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist specialising in Play Therapy Sharon holds a BA in Applied Social Studies in Social Care and an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy and Play Therapy from the Children’s Therapy Centre. Sharon is an accredited member of IAPTP. Sharon works therapeutically with children aged 4 years up to 18 years of age through the medium of play and creative arts. Creative therapy helps children and young people work through emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. Sharon believes that using the medium of play and creative therapy it can help children and young people express themselves, explore and make sense of the world, resolve difficulties and achieve more mature levels of social and emotional development. Play Therapy can help and support children dealing with complex trauma, bereavement and loss, anxiety, self-esteem, parental separation, friendships as well as many other challenges. Sharon has worked in a variety of social care settings over the last twenty years and has extensive experience in family support providing parenting programmes and support to families experiencing a wide range of difficulties.

Niamh Keane
IACP
Niamh is an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist. She is an accredited Member of Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Niamh works from a Humanistic and Integrative perspective, using a Person Centered Approach to create a non-judgemental empathic space from which a client can explore issues they may be experiencing at their own pace. Niamh’s qualifications include BA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP). Certificate in Counselling Skills (NUIM). Certificate in the Therapeutic Use of Mindfulness (IICP). Assist Suicide Intervention Trained (Assist). Garda Vetted with (IACP). Niamh provides support with a wide range of issues including: anxiety, depression, bereavement & loss, low self-esteem, sexuality and relationship issues. She adheres fully to The Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy code of ethics. Niamh works individually with adults.

Alison Barry
APPI, ICP
Alison has been working in the field of mental health for 15 years. She has extensive clinical experience as a psychotherapist working with the HSE, Tusla, in Private Practice and Charity based organisations (Oasis Ballyfermot and Wexford Rape Crisis). In addition to her work as a psychotherapist, she has over 15 years’ experience as a Yoga therapist.  In her private practice, she works with clients of all ages and stages with any issue that presents, but over the years has gained speciality in working with complex trauma and in particular, Abuse and DSGBV. Alison has also gained speciality in working with neurodivergence in people of all ages and stages. Alongside psychotherapy, Alison specialises in Yoga Therapy and offers both group classes and one to one sessions for anyone seeking healing through the movement of the body. Alison specialises in using the movement of yoga to deepen and strengthen the mind body connection providing internal structures to help deepen mental health resilience. Yoga therapy works well for those aspects of our mental health that feel out of the reach of language. She is a lecturer on the MA Counselling and Psychotherapy programme in DBS providing workshops on the work of Short-Term Therapy. She holds an BA Psychology and MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, She is YA Yoga 500, Yin and Pregnancy Yoga qualified and certified. Alison is passionate about providing space for all who seek healing.
