Ruth Cahalan

Ruth is a qualified counsellor and Psychotherapist. She is a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, (IACP). 

Ruth's Story

Ruth works with adolescents and adults on an individual basis helping the client to make sense of a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, past traumas, work or school related issues and sexuality and gender questioning. 

 

Ruth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and Diploma in Art Therapy from ICPPD (International College for Personal and Professional Development), Certificate in Adolescent Studies from Blackforth Adolescent Gestal Institute, Certificate in Teen suicide awareness from PCI and a Certificate in Reality Therapy Choice Theory from the Glasser Institute.

 

Ruth uses a variety of methods when working with clients such as traditional talk Therapy. Sand space, play therapy and art therapy. Ruth believes the client holds the key to unlocking and unpacking their issues. Her role is to provide a safe, understanding and non-judgemental environment for the work to take place.
